Service to Improve Access
Services to Improve Access (SIA) funding is available for PHOs to reduce inequalities amoung propulations that are known to have worst health status: Maori, Pacific people and those living in NZDep index 9-10 decile areas. The funding is additional services that improve access.
In preparation of SIA initiatives, the PHO must consult with the community to determine the need and service gaps, whilst aligning to SDHB's annual health priorities. The application is then forwarded to SDHB for approval, with Ministry of Health input if necessary.
